I’ve been thinking a lot about Deykwon Gilmore’s passion for music, and it’s so moving to hear how his talent and ambition inspired those around him. Starting a record label while still in high school is no small feat, and I’m sure it brought so much joy and excitement to him and his loved ones. It’s such a loss not just for his family and friends, but also for the creative community that’s now missing a bright and promising individual. I can’t imagine the pain his family must be feeling, and my thoughts are with them. I hope the community continues to rally around them for support. It would be great if there were some way to honor his love for music, maybe by supporting other young artists in Burlington through scholarships or music programs in his name. Just a thought. Anyone else have any other ideas?
