I’ve been following the Winston-Salem shooting case, and something that keeps coming back to me is the impact this must have on Charles Kejuan Burns’ family, as well as the families of the other victims. Losing a loved one in such a violent and sudden manner must be devastating. What’s troubling is that there haven’t been any arrests yet. I can’t imagine the frustration and pain the families must be feeling while waiting for answers. I hope the authorities can bring some closure to them soon. If anyone in the community has information that could help, I truly hope they find the courage to come forward. This city has endured enough tragedies this year, and it’s time for healing and justice.
I've been following the case of the tragic shooting on Attucks Street and wanted to share some thoughts about the impact on the community. The loss of Charles Burns, alongside Ronnie Covington and Jamarus Crews, has sent shockwaves throughout Winston-Salem. These were people with families, friends, and futures that were unjustly cut short.
As someone who lives in the area, it's incredibly unsettling to think about how quickly life can change. What truly stands out is the strong sense of solidarity among the locals. Seeing neighbors come together, lighting candles, and sharing memories on social media, it's clear that these men were valued members of our community.
While the police are working hard to piece everything together, it's our responsibility as a community to keep supporting each other and remind everyone that violence is never the answer. My heart goes out to the families who must navigate this unfathomable loss. I really hope anyone who has any information is brave enough to step forward. This can't happen again. Stay safe, everyone.
