What really stands out in this case is the reminder of the ever-present dangers that officers like Kinney willingly face each day. They deserve our respect and support for putting their lives on the line to uphold the law and keep us safe. This horrible event is a stark reminder of the real risks involved in even seemingly routine actions like traffic stops. My heart goes out to Detective Kinney’s family, friends, and fellow officers who continue to feel his absence. I hope they find strength in knowing the difference he made during his lifetime.
