I recently came across this case while reading about Raynell Kimbrough and Dawn Scott’s tragic deaths. What really hits hard is thinking about their three children, especially the infant who was right there in bed with them when it happened. It’s hard to imagine how they’ll make sense of all this as they grow up. They were so fortunate to be physically unharmed, but we can only hope that they get the love and support they need from their grandmother and family to help heal from this trauma. Has anyone heard how the kids are doing now? Were there any efforts from the community to support them after this terrible event? My heart goes out to everyone affected by this senseless crime.

It’s really tough to wrap my head around how these kids are supposed to move forward after witnessing such a tragedy. I can't imagine the emotional toll it must have taken on them, especially the older ones who might better understand the situation. It’s somewhat of a relief they weren’t physically harmed, but the psychological scars will be something else entirely. It also amazes me how some people like Shaun Barnett, with such violent pasts, are out on the streets instead of being properly rehabilitated, if that's even possible... This whole situation makes me so concerned about the system that's supposed to protect folks from repeat offenders. Knowing their maternal grandmother stepped up to take care of them is a little comforting, but I worry about the support she'll need to help them heal and move past this. Does anyone know if there's been any community effort or resources provided to help the family through all this?
