I’ve been following the case of Desmon Bell, and I can't stop thinking about what kind of person he might have become if his life hadn't been stolen away so suddenly. It’s infuriating and tragic that no arrests have been made yet. While the exact motive behind the shooting is still unclear, it’s deeply concerning how gun violence continues to affect young people in our communities, especially in neighborhoods like Shreveport's Hollywood area.
I also can't help but wonder about Desmon’s family during this time. The frustration of not having answers must be overwhelming, and I really hope they feel supported by their community. It’s so important for everyone in the area to come together, pressuring law enforcement (who must also feel the weight of this unsolved case) to keep this investigation active and in the spotlight. Hopefully, someone with information will come forward.
I also went to the memorial service held at New Bethel Baptist Church—just being there, you could truly feel the love and loss from everyone gathered. It was a powerful reminder that lives lost to violence ripple through entire communities. Desmon deserves justice, and the community deserves peace.

I've been closely following the heartbreaking case of Desmon Bell, and I just can't get over the fact that no arrests have been made yet. It hits me hard knowing that Desmon's family is still searching for answers and justice over seven years later. I noticed that the investigation didn't seem to include much about the area where he was found in Shreveport's Hollywood neighborhood. As someone who grew up around there, I wonder if there might be community dynamics or relationships that could have played a role or might hold some key information.
Does anyone who knows this neighborhood have thoughts on why this case remains unsolved? Could there be witnesses who are too scared to come forward?
