I've been following the case of DonLee Williams and my heart goes out to his family and friends. Losing someone like him, especially at 61, feels like a double loss for the community. I was reading about the Lower 9th Ward's history, and it's so frustrating to see how this neighborhood has been battling persistent crime and poverty for years. What gets me is the silence and lack of progress. Does anyone else feel like cases from neighborhoods like these just don't get the attention they deserve? It sometimes seems like only the residents are left to pick up the pieces. I'm hoping that there might be people out there with information who will come forward. A neighborhood watch or advocacy group stepping up might help keep this fresh in the public's mind. Keep hoping for answers and justice for DonLee.
