I've been following the case of Gerald James and wanted to bring up something that hasn't been discussed much: the role of hotel security. It’s really puzzling to me how these situations can escalate to such tragic outcomes in a hotel setting. Hotels usually have security measures, whether it’s cameras or personnel, but we haven't heard much about their involvement or response in the incident at the SE Evangeline Thruway location. I can't help but think about the staff who may have been present that night. It must have been terrifying for them, too. Did they hear anything? Could they have intervened or alerted authorities sooner? It's a reminder that places where we often feel secure can sometimes fail us, and these establishments should consider how they manage safety and emergency protocols. My heart goes out to Gerald's family and friends. I hope the legal proceedings bring them some peace and clarity. It's also a call for all of us to push for better safety measures and support systems in places we frequent. If anyone has insight into hotel safety procedures or similar experiences, your thoughts would be much appreciated.
