Has anyone else been thinking about the chain of events that led to Kamone disposing of the gun in the canal? It's so hard to wrap my head around the panic and fear that must have overwhelmed him in those moments. I'm not trying to excuse what happened, but putting myself in the shoes of an 18-year-old who just witnessed something so shocking, I can imagine sheer panic just taking over. It makes me wonder if he truly understood the gravity of mishandling a firearm and the permanence of its consequences. This whole case is just a devastating reminder of how important it is to educate young people about gun safety. My heart truly aches for Marquis’s family. No parent should ever have to endure such a loss. I hope this tragedy sparks more conversations about responsible gun ownership and the protection of our children.
