I can't stop thinking about the community’s response to Lonnie Samuel Jr.'s tragic passing. Seeing the Shreveport community rally together just reminds us all of the profound impact this senseless act has had on everyone. People have been coming together for vigils, sharing stories and memories of Lonnie, which just goes to show the love and respect so many had for him. It's clear that both these shootings, with Lonnie and Cartell Willis, have really shaken folks up. It's terrifying that incidents like these happen in what should be the safety of one's neighborhood. What’s uplifting though is the strength and unity the community is showing right now. It’s moments like these that remind us to lean on one another and keep pushing for all the help and support the affected families need. Hats off to the local police and the community organizations that are working tirelessly to solve these cases. Hopefully, more people will come forward with any info they might have. Lonnie and Cartell deserve justice, and it’s up to all of us to ensure they get it. Stay safe, everyone, and keep looking out for one another.
