I've been thinking a lot about the kind of person Jaylyn was and how much potential she had. By all accounts, she was someone who truly valued education and was working hard to make something of herself at Southern University. It's so devastating to see someone with such a promising future taken away so senselessly. I can only imagine the heartbreak for her family and friends who watched her grow and were cheering her on during her journey. It's frustrating that cases like this often take so long to resolve, but I hope the Ferriday Police Department can piece together the truth soon. I'm holding onto hope that they'll find the justice Jaylyn and Samuel deserve. Knowing that people in the community are advocating for change and trying to address the violence is at least a bit comforting in such a dark situation.
