I've been following the case of Marquis McCoy, and I just can't shake the impact it's had on the community in Baton Rouge. Marquis was only 34, and his life was cut short in such a senseless act of violence. It's been a few years now since his tragic death, but I still think about how his family and friends must be coping with this loss. I recently read about the arrest of Tyler Turner back in 2020. While some might feel a sense of relief that someone was charged, it doesn't erase the grief or bring Marquis back. I can't imagine the mixed emotions his loved ones must feel. I really hope this case continues to shine a spotlight on the need for better community resources and efforts to reduce gun violence in Baton Rouge. It's so important for people to come forward with information to help bring justice for Marquis and others affected by such tragedies. Let's keep talking about this and pushing for change.
