I’ve been thinking a lot about Brooklyn’s murder and something that just won't escape my mind is the focus on her personal interests and how they really painted her as a vibrant soul. She was someone who genuinely loved beauty and expression, studying cosmetology at Bossier Parish Community College shows she had a real passion for it. From what I’ve read, people knew her for her positivity and flair on social media. It’s so tragic that a young woman with so much potential and a bright personality could be taken so violently. What strikes me the most is how she had just celebrated her landmark birthday, surrounded by loved ones who probably saw an exciting future ahead of her. It’s infuriating that there have been no arrests or suspects yet. The community is crying out for justice because Brooklyn deserved so much more than this senseless violence. It’s haunting to know her story is a reminder of the risks faced by Black trans women every day. Keeping her and her family in my thoughts.

I can't stop thinking about Brooklyn's story and how her life was taken so suddenly. It's troubling that despite the clear impact she made on her friends and social media community, there still haven't been any leads in her case. I just can’t wrap my head around how someone so vibrant can be taken away, and there’s so little progression in finding who’s responsible. It just makes me wonder about the safety nets we have (or don't have) in place for trans individuals, especially Black trans women like Brooklyn. These repeated tragedies can't just be dismissed or forgotten as another statistic. I hope her family feels the love and support from people all over who are desperate for justice to be served. Were there any community events or vigils held in Brooklyn's memory? Sometimes those can be powerful spaces for healing and sparking broader conversations about change. Sending all the love to those who knew and cherished her. ?️
