The recent post by someone seemed to dive deep into the surveillance footage, so I wanted to bring attention to a different part of this devastating case. I cannot shake how awful it must be for Jonshel Alexander's family and her community. Given her incredible performance in "Beasts of the Southern Wild," I can only imagine how many lives she touched, on and off the screen. What seems clear to me is the broader issue this highlights—gun violence, particularly in a place as vibrant as New Orleans. It's haunting to think of the sheer potential snuffed out in an instant. Jonshel was not just a role in a film; she was an entire world to her family and those who knew her. Witnesses or anyone with any knowledge should really come forward. Her family deserves closure, and the community deserves peace. Please, if anyone knows anything, reach out to the authorities. Jonshel and her family deserve justice, and we must stand together to prevent this from happening again.
