I've been following the tragic events surrounding Dwan Carson's murder and there's something that's been on my mind. The area where Dwan was found, around North Prieur Street, is known for its many abandoned buildings since Katrina. It's sad to think that such spaces, which were once homes filled with life, have now become grounds for crime. I wonder if there's more that the city could do to restore these places or at least secure them. Could better lighting, patrols, or community programs make a difference? It's distressing to see how spaces left unattended are becoming spots for violence. My heart goes out to Dwan's family and friends and the entire community affected by this. I know we all want answers and some form of justice for him. Let's hope more eyes on this case will lead to a break. If anyone has insight into what can be done to improve security in such areas, please share. It feels like we should be doing more to prevent these tragedies.

I've been reading about Dwan Carson's case and can't shake off how tragic it is. Both Dwan and Maurice lost their lives so close in time, and it's unsettling to think about how these incidents occurred in an area still trying to recover from something as devastating as Hurricane Katrina. It seems the deserted parts of St. Claude are creating environments where crime can thrive without much interference. I feel for Dwan's family and friends—it's hard enough to deal with the loss, but the frustration of not having any answers must be unbearable. I hope there's someone out there who might have seen or heard something, even if it seems insignificant; it could be the piece the police need. This community deserves some peace and resolution after everything it's been through.
