I was reading through some old posts about Patrolman August Lind's murder, and it's incredible yet saddening to see how far back unsolved cases go. It must have been so devastating for his family to lose him so suddenly, especially knowing his killers were never caught. I can't help but think about his three children and how this impacted their lives growing up. It's like this shadow that must have followed them, knowing their father's selfless act for the community went unanswered. The courage officers like Lind show, putting themselves in danger to protect us, is truly commendable. The fact that the suspects were never apprehended is unsettling. How did law enforcement cope with such gaps back in those days? It’s a reminder of how much more we need to do to ensure justice and bring closure to such painful losses.
