Michael William Negrete, born March 25, 1981, was an 18‑year‑old freshman at UCLA when he disappeared from his dormitory in Los Angeles on December 10, 1999. A talented music student and trumpet and steel‑drum performer with the band Island Fever, he was living on the sixth floor of Dykstra Hall on campus, situated at Gayley Avenue and Strathmore Drive.
