I'm always drawn back to thinking about the bravery and strength in those final moments at the Lane Bryant store. Connie Woolfolk and the other women endured something unimaginable. It must have been terrifying, yet I've read accounts of courage from the survivors and family members that truly touch the heart. For Connie, this was a mundane day gone tragically wrong, and I cannot imagine the sorrow her boys have faced growing up without their mother.
It strikes me how senseless this act of violence was, all for a botched robbery. I often wonder about the lives and potential each of these women had stolen from them. Connie was just there shopping for a simple night out with friends, a moment of joy. Now her legacy is a call for justice in a world where we hope such violence finds no place.
Those who knew her describe Connie as a warm and devoted friend, always putting her kids first. Her sons are her legacy, and from what I’ve gathered, they're growing up with the same kindness their mother showed to all she met. They, like many others, are waiting for answers—I can't help but hope there’s a breakthrough soon; this case deserves resolution, and these families need peace.
