Hey everyone, I’ve been reading through the threads about Miguel Delgado’s case and can’t help but think about the complex web of emotions his family must be feeling. I mean, here’s a young guy, Miguel, just out with friends in Wicker Park—a place I've visited a few times for its lively scene—and his life is cut short because of senseless violence. I keep thinking about how his family mentioned he wasn’t involved in any gang activity, yet he somehow got caught in the crossfire of what seems to be a gang-related situation. I'm curious about what the community response has been like in Chicago since this happened. Have there been any efforts in Wicker Park or the surrounding areas to address the aftereffects of incidents like this? It’s hard to imagine how Miguel’s family and friends are coping, knowing this happened in a public, social space that’s supposed to be safe. I think it serves as a wake-up call about the broader issue of gun violence here and how it doesn’t just affect those directly involved. If anyone has updates on any positive changes or community actions that have come about because of this, I’d love to hear about it. Anything to honor Miguel’s memory and maybe prevent another tragedy would be a step in the right direction. Sending thoughts to Miguel's loved ones during this difficult time.
