On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Kelvin Church, a 17-year-old resident of Camilla, Georgia, was shot at the intersection of Furlow and Jester Street in Camilla. Following the shooting, Church was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Church succumbed to his injuries on November 5, 2024, and an autopsy was scheduled to be performed at the GBI Crime Lab as part of the ongoing investigation.
