Hey all,
I’ve been thinking about the incredible resilience of Nahmar's family and the community in the wake of his murder and the tragic events at his vigil. It must be incredibly difficult to process not only the loss of a loved one but also the violence that they’ve had to endure afterward. Nahmar and Keekee's deaths are senseless, and I can't imagine the pain their families are going through.
What stood out to me was how the community came together so quickly to hold a vigil in Nahmar’s memory. It’s heartbreaking that such a moment meant to honor someone's life was marred by further violence. I wish there had been more support for those gathered at the vigil, both in terms of security and emotional help.
Gang violence and gun crime seem to have such a strong grip on certain neighborhoods, and I keep wondering what more can be done to stop this from tearing communities apart. Keeping Nahmar’s and Keekee's memories alive is important, but we also need to focus on the changes that might prevent future tragedies.
If anyone has any thoughts or updates on how the community is coping or the investigation, please share.
Stay safe and take care of each other.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about how the community came together for Nahmar's vigil, and it really shows how much he was loved and respected by those who knew him. It's devastating that what was meant to be a moment of strength and remembrance turned into another tragedy with Keekee’s death. My heart goes out to her family as well—I can’t even begin to imagine the pain they’re going through right now.
What stands out to me is this cycle of violence that seems so hard to break. It’s like, people are trying to heal and show solidarity, but then something so senseless happens again. I can't shake the feeling of how precarious safety feels for everyone involved. Are there any local initiatives or community groups focusing on reducing this kind of violence, especially around these neighborhoods? It would be great to share some of that information here so anyone interested can pitch in or spread the word.
Hoping for justice for Nahmar and peace for his and Shantell’s families.
