I came across Jechon Anderson’s case again today and I can’t stop thinking about the sheer injustice this poor child faced. One detail that keeps haunting me is the promise of basketball camp that summer. It's something so simple, yet it meant the world to him. It was supposed to be a time filled with joy and learning, not marred by tragedy. As a parent, I can’t imagine what his family is going through. How do you cope with the loss of a child, especially under such violent circumstances? The community should be a safe space for children to grow and pursue their dreams, not one where their lives are cut short so senselessly. Let’s not forget Jechon and continue to push for answers and justice. The pain may never fully go away, but maybe finding the truth can bring some level of peace to his family. Keeping them in my thoughts.
