I’ve been thinking a lot about Roosevelt Bourne III’s case recently, and one thing that stands out to me is the silence from potential witnesses. I can’t help but wonder if there are people who might have seen or heard something that night but are too afraid to come forward. The intersection of 137th Street and Atlantic Avenue probably isn’t deserted at 10:37 p.m. How can we as a community make it safer for people to speak up? It’s crucial for Roosevelt’s family and friends to find some measure of peace, and any tiny detail could be a huge step toward that. It’s devastating to feel so helpless, wishing there were more we could do to support his family in finding the truth. If anyone has any ideas or resources that might help encourage people to share information, let’s discuss it. Roosevelt deserves justice.
