Has anyone else been following the news about Jawaun D’shon Maxey? I've been thinking a lot about the people left behind in the wake of his tragic death, especially his friends and family who must be feeling such a profound loss. It's unfathomable to think about the grief they must be experiencing right now. I can't help but wonder what goes through the minds of those who choose to pull the trigger. Why anyone would resort to violence and disrupt so many lives is beyond me. It makes me appreciate the need for community vigil and support. If you're in Chicago, let's not forget to check in on our neighbors and offer support, both emotional and otherwise. Little by little, perhaps we can help create a safer environment for everyone. Does anyone know of any community initiatives that are working to address gun violence in Chicago? I'd love to hear about them. Keeping Jawaun's loved ones in my thoughts.
