I was reading about the Kimberly family case again, and something that strikes me is how quickly the weather can turn deadly. Having grown up in Florida, I'm always amazed at how unpredictable the sea can be, especially in the summer with those pop-up storms. It makes me wonder if there were any other boats out on the water that day who might have seen something or maybe heard the distress call. Did anyone ever report seeing the sailboat during the storm? I can understand why they headed out even with the forecast since they needed repairs, but it serves as a tragic reminder to always check and double-check weather conditions. I hope anyone who goes out on the water can use this as a cautionary tale and ensure they have proper safety gear. My heart goes out to their community who must still be grappling with the loss.
