Did anyone else notice the weather reports for the area around the time Sanford Rice went missing? I've been poking around some old records, and it seems there were pretty unpredictable weather patterns that week. June in Oregon can still have its surprises, right? I’m wondering if that might’ve caught him off guard. It’s possible he wasn't prepared for a sudden turn in weather conditions, especially being an older hiker. This could have made navigation or even staying safe more difficult. If anyone has any more detailed info on what the weather was like or how it might’ve affected visibility or trail conditions, it could be helpful to piece together what might have happened.
Hey everyone, I’ve been following the Sanford Rice case for a while now, and something that struck me is the reported sightings near Marion Lake. It's puzzling how several hikers saw him that day, but he seemed to just vanish after that. Did anyone happen to come across any unusual weather conditions or wildlife activity in that area around the time he went missing? I’ve read that sometimes unexpected weather changes can disorient hikers or cause them to take a wrong turn. If anyone has insights or local knowledge about the typical conditions at that time of year, it might help piece together what could have happened. Any input would be appreciated!
Has anyone else come across any mention of wildlife activity affecting search efforts in Sanford David Rice's disappearance? I was reading up on the area around Marion Forks and it seems like it could be pretty dense wilderness. I wonder if any animals might have moved or disturbed clues that could have otherwise been found. If the terrain is as remote and rugged as some of the other posters have mentioned, it seems plausible wildlife could have played a part in this case, even if only by complicating the search efforts. Would love to hear thoughts or any similar cases where this was a factor.
