I can't stop thinking about the sheer brutality of Eugene's murder. Imagine the fear he must have felt running for his life only to trip on a bush and be ruthlessly gunned down. It's haunting. I just don’t understand how people can be so cold-hearted. The gunmen fired 17 rounds. SEVENTEEN. The severity of the violence is just shocking. My heart goes out to his family and friends dealing with such an overwhelming loss. I hope the legal system does its part to ensure justice is served for Eugene and his loved ones. Thankful that the suspects are off the streets, but it doesn’t feel like nearly enough. Chicago has seen too many tragedies like this, and it’s always the innocent who pay the highest price. Stay strong, West Pullman community. ?
