Hey everyone, just thinking about the community response to Serenity Broughton's case. It's been really moving to see how Belmont-Cragin has come together in support of her family. I heard about several vigils and rallies organized by local residents, and even people from outside the neighborhood. They have truly shown what unity and compassion look like in the face of such a devastating event. What really struck me was how the community used these gatherings not just to grieve and remember Serenity, but to demand action against the violence affecting so many children and families. There’s a strong sense that while arrests are being made, it's crucial to keep the pressure on for broader changes. It's powerful, and I just hope that, in time, their collective voices will lead to meaningful progress. If anyone attended any of these memorials or events, it would be really impactful to hear firsthand experiences or thoughts about what more we can do to support the Broughtons and advocate for safer streets.
