On a tragic day in Sand Lake, Michigan, the life of 58-year-old Lisa A. Bradley was cut short. On Saturday, September 22, 2018, Lisa, a White/Caucasian female, was at her home with her companion, James Cole Jr., when an act of violence shattered their peace. Lisa, born on December 27, 1959, in Grand Rapids, was known for her love of the outdoors, antiquing, and bringing new life to old furniture.
She was a cherished mother and grandmother, and a valued employee at Kaleidoscope of Times in Greenville.
The perpetrator of this violent act was identified as 33-year-old Bruce Huntley, who was related to Lisa by marriage. Huntley entered the home and fatally shot both Lisa and James, as well as their dog. The violence did not end there. Following the murders, Huntley kidnapped his own wife and their two children, initiating a tense standoff with law enforcement.
The standoff concluded with Huntley taking his own life. The investigation that followed confirmed that Bruce Huntley was the sole person responsible for the deaths of Lisa Bradley and James Cole Jr., and as a result, no other suspects were sought and no arrests were made in connection with the case. The community was left to mourn the loss of Lisa and James, remembering them for the love they shared with their families.
