Every time I read about Keeshanna Jackson, my heart goes out to her family and friends. Thinking about Keeshanna's aspirations and dreams, it’s so unjust that she never got the chance to explore her future at SIU or grow her nail business. What a vibrant and promising young woman her loved ones must remember her as. I’m really feeling for her family, especially now with the recent developments in the case. I can only imagine how they must be coping with the lengthy and emotional process of seeking justice for Keeshanna. It’s tragic that this shooting involved so many people, and it’s deeply troubling to think about how this kind of violence impacts a whole community. I hope the charges against Keavonte Nesby bring some sense of closure to Keeshanna’s family, but no doubt there’s a long road ahead. I’ll be keeping Keeshanna and those close to her in my thoughts, as they continue to navigate the complexities of this case.
