Has anyone else looked into the safety records of the SS V.A. Fogg prior to the disaster? I’ve been diving into some old documents—excuse the pun—and it’s perplexing how a ship with such hazardous cargo could have overlooked safety protocols, if indeed they did. I wonder if the crew received adequate training for handling volatile substances like xylene and benzene. There’s a lot of speculation about what happened, but I can’t help but think about what preventive measures were in place, if any. Seems like a case where a focus on cutting corners could have led to disaster. It’s unsettling that Gregersen and the others might have been caught in a preventable tragedy. Anyone have more info on protocols back then?
