Has anyone else been following the Clarence Owens and Everett Hawley case? With the recent discovery, I can’t stop thinking about the missing cash aspect. I mean, they were at the auction planning to buy something, right? What happened to that money? It’s like a piece of the puzzle is still missing. If they were robbed, then why no signs of trauma? Could someone have stolen the cash after the car went into the river? It’s such a bizarre situation, and I can't help but wonder if there's more to uncover regarding their disappearance, maybe even another person involved somehow. What do you all think? Could it have just been a tragic accident, or is there more below the surface?

Has anyone else been following the Clarence Owens and Everett Hawley case? I find it so intriguing that after nearly five decades, the submerged Impala was finally discovered in the Pecatonica River. I've been trying to piece together their last known movements, and it seems like after attending that farm auction in 1976, they vanished without a trace. Given that they usually carried cash for auction buys, it makes me wonder if theft could have been a motive, but then, why hasn't anything about that come up in the investigation? The car was found with no signs of trauma on the bodies, which just adds more layers to the mystery. Was this a tragic accident, or is there something more sinister that we're not seeing here? Curious to know what others think about this puzzling turn of events and what scenarios might explain how they ended up in the river.
