I was diving into the Sherrye Lee Bethel case again, and noticed something curious about the timing of everything. So, Sherrye's second husband filed for divorce in March 1976, but it got finalized in July 1977, a full year after she went missing. Does anyone else find it odd that the divorce proceedings continued even though she had disappeared? From what I understand, divorces typically require appearances or some acknowledgment from both parties at some point. Is it possible that someone forged documents, or maybe there was some legal loophole? Also, did anyone else notice how quickly she remarried after her first divorce? It seems like there might have been some unresolved issues, and I wonder if there were any domestic problems that might have contributed to her disappearance. Would love to hear your thoughts or if anyone has more info on how divorce proceedings like this would've worked back in the '70s.
