I’ve been following the tragic case of Justin O'Brien Gamino, and my heart goes out to his family and friends, especially his young daughter who will grow up without her dad. What really strikes me about this case is the location where this senseless act took place. The shooting occurred right near the Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation, an organization dedicated to promoting peace and healing from violence. It's so tragic and frustrating that such violence erupted in front of a place meant to symbolize hope and change. I wonder how staff and community members from the Ministry are coping with the aftermath of this traumatic event, considering they tried to help Justin in his final moments. It's a stark contrast to the mission they strive to uphold every day. How do communities and organizations continue to push forward in their missions when confronted with such brutal realities so close to home?
