I just read about the tragic shooting in Washington Park, and my heart goes out to everyone affected, especially the families of Lionel Coward and Khalil Denny. It’s devastating to think of how quickly things escalated that evening. What really caught my attention was the sheer number of shell casings left behind—43! It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that automatic weapons were involved. It makes you wonder how those weapons are getting into the hands of people willing to use them in such a devastating way. I’ve seen calls for stricter gun control laws, and it seems like the community is feeling that urgency too. Chicago has dealt with so much in terms of gun violence, and I hope Lionel's story can shed some light and push for real changes. It’s disheartening to hear that some witnesses aren't cooperating, which must be incredibly frustrating for the investigators and families desperately seeking answers. I’d love to see more community outreach or support programs for witnesses who might feel scared to come forward. These families deserve closure and justice. Stay safe, everyone.
