I can't stop thinking about how crucial it is for domestic violence cases to be taken seriously every step of the way. It’s so tragic what happened to Lupe and her kids, and it just makes my heart ache for everyone involved. She was trying to break free from an abusive situation, which is already such a difficult and brave step to take. The fact that Carlos had been charged with domestic battery, yet this situation still escalated to such a horrific outcome, shows that there must have been gaps in the system meant to protect victims. I hope that this tragedy can be a wake-up call for stronger preventive measures and better protection for those at risk of domestic violence. My thoughts are with Lupe's family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time. Let's all continue to support organizations and initiatives designed to prevent these kinds of tragedies.
