Franklin and his girlfriend, Jennifer Liggons, were already facing a difficult situation, dealing with homelessness and trying to care for their three children. Staying at the hotel might have seemed like a short break from their troubles, a chance to regroup. It's heartbreaking that what should’ve been a safe haven turned into a crime scene.
