Has anyone else been thinking about the role technology played in Malik's case? It's so devastating to know that Malik reportedly lost his life over something as trivial as a cell phone. It makes me wonder how such objects can become motives for senseless violence. Is it possible that the value we place on tech has led to more crimes like this? My heart goes out to Malik's family, who must deal with the painful reminder of his loss every time they see someone with a phone. It seems that this incident was further complicated by stolen property being involved, and I wonder if this influenced the charges against Baker. Would love to hear any thoughts you all might have on how material possessions can be linked to such tragic outcomes.
