I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact on the children left behind after tragedies like the one that happened to David Allen Fritts. Growing up in a close-knit community must be tough enough, but losing a parent so suddenly and violently must feel incredibly isolating for Haylie, Elijah, and Lindsey. I can’t imagine what they’re going through, and my thoughts are with them and Andrea. The local community has such a strong support system, though. I hope they’re able to rally around the family, not just now, but in the coming months and years, to ensure these kids feel the love and security that seems to have been so cruelly taken from them. No one should have to deal with this kind of pain, especially children. If anyone knows if there’s some kind of support fund or group set up to help the family, please share it.
