Has anyone else been following the tragic case of Ranie Ann Overman? I've been thinking about how systemic issues surrounding domestic violence are often overlooked until it's too late. It’s chilling that despite Gerald Loch’s previous arrests and the clear legal directives to stay away from Ranie, it still escalated to such a devastating outcome. It's just such a grim reminder of the gaps in protective measures for victims. So many people don’t report abuse for a multitude of reasons, and even when they do, the existing systems aren't always able to protect them adequately. My heart goes out to Ranie's family, especially her four daughters who lost their mother to such a senseless act of violence. I can't even imagine what they're going through. I think it's crucial for us to keep having conversations around these issues and push for more resources and support for those affected by domestic violence. What do you all think needs to change to prevent tragedies like this from happening in the future?
