Hey everyone, I've been following the Shawn David Jackson case, and I keep thinking about his son. Imagine being 17 and having to report your own father missing, only to later find out the horrible truth about what happened. It’s tough not to feel for him, having lost his dad in such a brutal way and facing betrayal from someone who was a part of their lives. He must have so many mixed emotions—loss, anger, confusion. I hope he has a strong support system to help him through this. It’s a reminder of how crime extends beyond just the victim and significantly affects loved ones left behind. If anyone here knows of resources for young people dealing with traumatic loss, it could be valuable to share for those in similar situations. Thinking about all of them.

Hey everyone, I was reading about the tragic case of Shawn David Jackson and couldn't help but think about the impact this must have had on his son. It must have been incredibly traumatic for a 17-year-old to wake up to find out his father was missing, and then later learn the devastating truth. Not only did he lose his dad, but in such a shocking and violent way. I'm sure this left a major mark on his life, and I hope he has been receiving all the support he needs from the community and professionals. It really makes you think about the importance of mental health support in the aftermath of such tragedies. How are we doing better as a society to help young people cope in these situations? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
