I just keep thinking about how Katelyn was such an exemplary student at Scholars Academy and wonder about the huge void she left behind. I heard she was particularly passionate about the Latin Club and inspired many around her with her enthusiasm for learning. It’s truly tough for the students who shared countless moments with her at the club, learning and bonding. I can’t even begin to imagine the impact this has had on her friends and teachers who had seen her nearly every day. It’s evident from the little things shared by those who knew her that her presence brought some kind of light and warmth, something that will undoubtedly be missed. My thoughts are with her community as they navigate this difficult time.
