I keep thinking about how Joseph must feel knowing he introduced Berkery to his family. It has to be devastating, thinking he was just trying to help someone out, and then things spiraled so terribly. When you open your home to someone, you never expect it to end in such a tragedy. It seems like they were really trying to do the right thing by giving Berkery a place to stay.
