I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact on Markayla’s younger sister, who witnessed her sister’s tragic last moments. It’s unimaginable what she must be going through. Not only did she suffer physical injuries, but the emotional trauma of witnessing such a horrific event is something no child should ever have to endure. We often focus on the victims, which is absolutely important, but the ripple effect of violence affects so many lives in different ways. I just hope she’s getting all the love and support she needs to heal from this. Does anyone have any information on services or resources in Columbus, GA that might be supporting her and others impacted by this? I think it’s crucial for her to have a strong support network now and in the future.
