I recently learned about the case of Alphonso Jermine Oliver IV, and I can't stop thinking about the circumstances surrounding his tragic death. It's tough to wrap my head around the fact that he was taken from his family and friends in such a violent manner. I've been particularly struck by the courage and resilience his family showed throughout the trial. The fact that they had to sit through the court proceedings, reliving the details of that awful day, is unimaginable. I also can't help but think about Kingston, Alphonso's young son. The loss of his father at such a young age is truly profound, and I hope he's surrounded by love and support. It's stories like these that remind me of the importance of community and coming together to support one another, especially the victims' families who bear the heaviest burden.
