Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the neighborhood where Kelly Young was murdered. It's unsettling to realize that many residents in these areas have to live with constant fear due to the violence around them. What’s more, it feels like there’s a disconnect between law enforcement and the communities they serve — particularly in neighborhoods like this one. From what I’ve read, many transgender individuals in Baltimore already felt marginalized, even before Kelly’s tragic death. I can’t even imagine the compounded fear and anxiety that must come from both living in a high-crime area and being part of a community that faces targeted violence. It’s a tough situation, and one that deserves much more attention and action. Being from a small town myself, I know how important community trust is, but I can't help but feel Baltimore’s approach might need more collaboration with local organizations that genuinely understand these issues. It pains me to think that Kelly’s case remains unsolved, and I hope we can find ways to break this cycle of fear and mistrust. Sending support to all who knew Kelly, and hoping for progress and justice. — Lee
