Has anyone else been following the discussions around the significance of DNA evidence in the Iwana Patton case? It’s incredible to see how far forensic technology has come and how it played such a pivotal role in her case. I can’t even begin to fathom the sense of closure it must have brought to her family to see justice finally served after so many years. It must have been agonizing to wait for answers, and I’m grateful to all the investigators who worked tirelessly over the years to find the truth. What’s also been on my mind is how the use of genetic genealogy helped solve this case. It’s amazing to think about how a tool like that can bring justice not just for Iwana, but also for Laquetta and Julie. It’s a reminder of the importance of evolving technology in law enforcement. Do any other cases come to mind for you all where DNA made the deciding difference?
