I've been following Jerry's story and one thing that's been really bothering me is how someone with a history like James Costa's was still able to roam freely. I mean, over 30 arrests? It seems like there were plenty of red flags that should have triggered some sort of intervention before tragedy struck. How does someone with that kind of past end up with the freedom to cause harm again? My heart goes out to Jerry's family and friends. Knowing that this could have potentially been prevented must be an incredibly difficult reality for them to face. It's a stark reminder of the need for systemic changes in how repeat offenders are handled. How do we make sure something like this doesn't happen again?
