I’ve been looking into the Bellar case, and something that sticks out to me is the role of neighbors during and after the tragedy. I can’t imagine the trauma of hearing gunshots and screams and then discovering what had happened. It's not something anyone should have to experience. Yet, they were crucial in helping Nathan find refuge during his terrifying escape. It makes you wonder about the impact such events have on entire communities, not just the families directly involved. It breaks my heart to think about the courage Nathan must have needed to run for his life, and the immediate kindness and protection the neighbors offered him. It’s a reminder of the resilience and compassion that often emerge from the darkest situations. To everyone in the community affected by this tragedy, my thoughts are with you.
