Hey everyone, I’ve been reading through all the discussions, and I've been thinking a lot about the community’s response to Pedro Uriarte’s tragic death. I wanted to mention how powerful and moving it was to see his classmates at Miami Jackson Senior High School come together to protest such a senseless act. Wearing headphones and black clothing might seem like a simple gesture, but it sends such a profound message of unity and support. It's heartbreaking to see young people having to organize these forms of protest, but their solidarity speaks volumes about the kind of person Pedro was and the love people had for him. The way the students have stood up, honoring Pedro’s life and calling for change, gives me hope that his spirit continues to inspire positive action, even in such a dark time. Communities need to continue having these difficult conversations about gun violence, and the strength Pedro’s friends have shown is a powerful reminder that people can come together to demand better and strive for peace. Sending love and strength to everyone impacted by this tragedy. Hopefully, the continued dialogue and support will lead to justice for Pedro and a safer community for all.
