Has anyone else been following Peter Jackson's case in Yosemite? I just read up on it again, and something that's intriguing is the discovery of his backpack in 2019 between Aspen Valley and Smith Peak. It makes me wonder if he went off his usual path. For someone as seasoned as Jackson, it's odd that he might have gotten lost or injured, but the fact his backpack was found so far from his campsite is puzzling. I can't help but think there might be some other factor we haven't considered. Could weather or terrain shifts in that area have played a role? It's also strange that, even with a found item, no other traces have surfaced. I often hike alone and understand the appeal, but stories like these remind me how unpredictable nature can be.

Has anyone looked into the weather conditions around the time Peter Jackson went missing? I find it odd that an experienced hiker like him would just vanish without any trace for so long. Yosemite’s weather can be so unpredictable and dangerous, especially in September when things start to cool down and you get those sudden rainstorms. I'm wondering if there was any severe weather in that region that day that could have caught him off guard. It might explain why his backpack was found miles away from his campsite in 2019. Just a thought!
